Im looking to lift my 1998 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L. Everything on it is currently stock right now. Im eventually planning on putting 33" tires on it. Ive heard everything from a body lift, to spacers to just putting a good lift kit on it upfront.

Im not looking to offroad this vehicle in anyway, its driven on the road 98% of the time I just want to raised looked with bigger wheels.

Is there anything anybody would recommend to help me out with that? Im also looking to keep the drive as smooth as possible or at least what it is now.

2" Budget Boost. Coil spring spacers and shocks will cost a little over 200.00. On the street, you will fine with that and 33's

Spacer lifts are pretty much all the same. The shocks are where you want to get picky.... You might want to consider adding an inch or so body lift along with the bb to gain some additional clearance for the tires. And don't forget the bumpstop extensions....

I have the Skyjacker with the Hydro shocks....I really like it. Rides better than stock IMO....

I have the Skyjacker BB with hydros also and it works well, I'm currently running 32s with no body lift. Now that I have added a tire carrier, gas cans, hilift, ect. to the back the jeep it is sagging a little in the rear so I'm going to have to come up with another plan. Maybe stiffer springs? Especially when I add a winch to the front.

A 2 inch BB with a 1 inch body lift will handle 33s height wise with the proper bump stops.

Although I really like the BB, I have to admit I'm getting the itch to go for a 3" lift in the future.

Don't do the BB.

That was I did from the beginning and after a month I gave the BB to my Pitbull. Go straight to a 3" spring lift and 33" set up. You will love the way it look.

Thank you for all of the information, its sounding like the spacers with the body lift will do just fine for what Im looking to do with the jeep.

1998 huh? Your coils/springs may be sagging significantly and a spacer lift may not be the best solution. I recommend a 2" suspension lift and replace your coils out altogether. If your purpose/use is mainly street, 2" plus bump stops will allow you to run 33s fine. On the rare occasions that you take your Jeep out, do not disconnect your sway bar with the above setup. If you find yourself off-roading often, I would install a bodylift to supplement the 2" suspension lift.

Although rare on a small lift, you may experience vibrations as a result of the lift. If this occurs, you have a few options to remove the vibrations. Listed are what many have done to rid vibes from $$$ cheap to more costly:
  • Transfer case spacer drop
  • Motor Mount Lift (usually done in conjunction with a body lift)
  • SYE (for thos who don't have a Rubicon) + DC driveshaft + Rear Upper Adjustable Control Arms
