WELL, I UN-PLUGGED THE TEMP SENSOR TO CHANGE THE THERMOSTAT AND THEN FORGOT TO PLUG IT BACK IN BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE TO CHECK FOR LEAKS. NOW I HAVE THE CHECK ENGINE LITE STARING AT ME. I PLUGGED THE TEMP SENDER BACK IN BUT THAT DIDN'T SHUT THE LIGHT OFF.

ANYONE KNOW HOW TO SHUT THE LIGHT OFF WITHOUT GOING TO THE DEALER AND PAYING THROUGH THE NOSE TO TURN IT OFF? IT'S A 1998 TJ 4L.:banghead:

Disconnect the battery's negative connector for 2 minutes to reset the code then try it again.

Check engine lite

Hey thanks for the tip, I'll go undo the neg. cable now and perhaps that will clear the light.

Check engine lite

Hey thanks a bunch to Jerry Bransford, the disconnecting the neg. cable worked like a charm. Code gone.
