I was doing a fluid change on my read diff last night and 2 pieces of metal fell into my drip pan. I didn't remove the diff cover just a drain and fill. I know I need to remove the cover and inspect the gears but can anyone tell me what this came from? Looks to thin to be part of the gears?

looks like then end/corner of gear tooth or spider gear maybe.. pull the cover when you get time and see what you have going on

I had about 4 or five chunks come out of mine last month before vacation. when I changed the fluid, second time I changed it. Pieces of spider gear I think.

Drove it to Colorado and back, 4-wheeled it etc....No problems or strange noises.

I'm out of warranty and will re-gear sooner than later so I'm not worried.
