I work with vehicles all the time taking an engine out and putting it in isint had but I've never done a cummins swap. I read somewhere that it's extremely had to do especially on a Cj-7. Is it true? How hard is it? Does anyone have pictures of their Cj with a 4bt swap done?

My experience with a 4BT swap involved a 79 3/4 ton ford. 1st off the 4BT and the NV4500 trans I used is heavy. The engine is a torque monster so you will a beefy trans that you can mate to your transfer case. The engine is also the king of vibrations So you will need some heavy mounts and frame reinforcement also you should be on a first name basis with your 'Loctite" salesman. In my experience if you are sold on diesel there are better choices. VM. Mercedes. Perkins Etc. just my $.02
