I am starting to have issues with my 2015 JKU Rubicon Hardrock. My independent mechanic said it is the clockspring. Cruise is intermittent at best. I just read the thread about the extended warranty and I am going to pursue that avenue. But, just in case, the replacement part is listed as 5156106AD. This part is listed at discontinued on the big on-line parts sites but they don't list what the replacement part is. They also list a 5156106AE, AF, and AG as available. Are those parts newer versions? Will they work on the 2015?

Yes, the G will work. This is a newer model of said clock spring. Mopar will change the last letter to a part number, when there has been a change to said part.

There is a TSB on the clockspring. If you take it to the dealer, they will replace it for free.

Is your guy sure it's the clockspring and not the buttons? When the CS goes, it usually takes out the horn, you get the airbag light and no buttons. It's unusual for it to just cause intermittent cruise functions.

However, if you just want to do it yourself, there are many compatible clockspring parts available. The one I got was listed for a RHD JK but the selling dealer (a Mopar dealer selling parts online) confirmed that this part would indeed work and was valid for my 2012. I paid around $75 for mine. That was before I knew about the TSB.

That CS works just fine.

There is a tsb on the clock spring , but it's on national back! I suggest you go to the dealer as fast as you can and get on the list!They have no idea when they will get them and are only allowed to order one a week. I know this because i need a sticker ,but can not get one because my airbag light is on, but i can not get the part!!

www.factorymopardirect.com has (or at least had) them in stock as of a few weeks ago. I bought one and replaced it myself after the dealer that did my passenger side air bag recall said the clock spring wasn't covered on my 2011.

All my buttons worked, and cruise worked, but my airbag light was intermittent and the dinging was driving me nuts.

Thanks for all the replies. Both the shop and I thought it was the Cruise switch and a factory one was put in. That didn't help. Seems as if depending on where the wheel is turned it may or may not work. Even better, on these cold, sort of damp fall mornings it will work. Maybe for 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 10 minutes or whatever until it kicks out. When kicked out the Cruise will not work until the next restart. Cruise is not a deal breaker but I do put a bunch of Interstate time and it would be nice to have. The fact this Jeep even has cruise beats the heck out of my past CJ-7s, 5s, and 2As!!

Since it leans toward the clockspring I am just trying to be proactive before the Airbag warnings and all the other controls go haywire.
