Good day Jeepers! I'm currently experiencing some very "clunky" shifting on my 2004 TJ-L with an Auto Transmission. The shift from 1st to 2nd sort of "lunges" forward during the gear change. And, I notice as I get up to speed and get through the gears, it feels like it "drops" into the final gear when the O/D is engaged. Without it engaged, I only feel the lunge from 1st to 2nd. My mechanic said it was the computer that needed to be updated. He did that and it seemed to fix the issue at first, but the issue started again within a few days. Anyone out there have any clues? I have seen threads on the Throttle Cable...but mine doesn't have that. The computer tells the transmission when to shift.

Thank you for your help!

Levels look good. Was changed about a month and a half ago.
When did the shifting problems start? Keep in mind that the engine has to be running while doing the ATF level check. If the engine isn't running the dipstick will indicate an erroneous higher ATF level than is really there.
