For those of you that bought a new JK, interested to know if your mind was made up in terms of exterior color BEFORE you went into the dealer.....and, just as importantly, did you walk out with the same color or did something change your mind?

Truth be told, I was pretty sure I was going to end up in a black JKUS with a matching black top, but after 3 dealers and a lot of weekend drive-bys, I became less sure of what color I wanted. And for the record, I support anyone's decision to get any color, variety is the spice of life. There are two colors that interestingly enough, got me to pull into the first Jeep dealer I passed to seriously look. Cosmos Blue and White. Completely out of character for me to entertain either one if you look at my past 4 vehicle color choices: black, silver, charcoal and black. Lol. I'm not sure why, but seeing both the blue and white with matching hard tops made me want to look closer at the '12 JKUs

While there were colors i never got to see in person on a JK (BFG, Gecko, Dozer) I had narrowed my choices down to black, cherry red, flame red and white in a period of a few weeks. White was eliminated after seeing it from a distance with matching colored top and fender because my wife commented that it looked like a Mail Truck. I actually like it. Milled it around a bit and eventually moved on. I had seen a higher amount of black on the roads here in the northeast than any other color. Black was actually my early selection based on getting a Sport with a black hard top and not the painted top. Over time I felt that black was very common, yet I still really like how it looks. Ultimately it came down to two identically equipped JKUSs in cherry red and flame red. My decision to get flame was based solely on never having seen one previously around my area in matching top and fenders.

So interested to hear how you all landed on the color you're now driving!

I walked in wanting black. Didn't really care if it was an '11 or '12. The dealer had several red '11's on the lot, but none of them were manuals. And, obviously, none were black.

So I had em build me a black '12. :punk:

Always wanted white on white. I just didn't plan on falling in love with an Arctic. Love at first sight.

We went to the lot and I told my wife that I was only going to buy one if they had a Red Sahara, well, they did. I wanted Red from the beginning.

I was sure I was going to go black, but waited around to see what Black Forest Green was going to look like. (I had originally wanted tan, but I couldn't find one with the options I wanted before it was discontinued) I started spending a lot of time looking at the various colors while I was finalizing my factory order in my head. (2012 JKUR)

Much to my surprise I began to feel drawn to white. I was sure I would eventually settle on black or a green but the more I saw the white the more I liked it.

I ended up going all white - body, fenders and top. I love it. It was the right choice for me and in the end thats all that really matters.

I love my choice and wouldn't change it for anything. I had some people tell me that they weren't crazy about the all white before I ordered it but you know what?

Almost all of those people tell me that now that they have had a longer look they are digging it too.

The moral of my long winded post? Take your time, see all of your choices, and then just listen to the little voice inside your head and buy whatever it tells you to. After all, this is your Jeep!

Yeah I really still like white. I never see it on the road but the few I've seen look awesome. I love my red and am happy with it. In the summer with the top down they're all going to look absolutely perfect

My husband wanted Sahara Tan or white, I wanted red since it's my favorite color. We went to 5 dealerships in Southern Calif. to see some colors in person. Neither of us cared for the Sahara Tan and he refused to go with red.

I really wanted to see Orange Crush in person but no one had one to see. We went to the dealership deciding on White and they were unloading an Orange Crush 2 door.

We fell in love and ordered our Orange Crush Rubicon. I actually loved the color more than him, but it is MY Jeep so that's how it should be :D

I was dead set on yellow... absolutely love it... hadn't seen it around my area at all. Dealer had a yellow but it didn't have a few basics and it just didn't seem to be in good shape. I knew I wanted something COMPLETELY different so I ended up with the'11 Mango Tango. Love it! See a ton of yellow now and almost no Mango Tango. Wouldn't change it for anything!

(I was a little concerned that my husband might not like it since he had mentioned before he wasn't into that color but... he ended up loving it as much as I do.)

One of the many things I love about a Jeep Wrangler is that you can make it your own very easily. Color, accessories, etc.... :thumb:

Though my favorite car color is black, with two black cars already in the garage, i wanted something different. My top two choices were white with black hardtop and black flares or all silver. I knew after seeing the white, silver was the way to go.

Silver is my second favorite car color and i like painted flares .... and ALL silver looks the best of any other color. :D

Wasn't really sold on the reds though I could have "lived with" the darker one, the dozer and crush just aren't me though I like the look of crush, I was coming from a silver vehicle and that was out as I wanted a change, and for some reason I just don't like white vehicles. I've always liked greens and always secretly wanted a black vehicle. I probably would have ended up with natural green if it was still around but since it's not, BFG is perfect. I get green and black together :D. Oh, cosmos, well, "Smurf blue" is just not me
