Can anyone give me a ballpark estimate on regearing a JKU, parts AND labor (I don't have the mechanical skills to take it on myself)?

Thanks.

Mostly depend on where you live. I had Northridge 4x4 do mine, $1400 out the door. Randy's Ring and Pinion which is located just 5 miles away quoted me $2200. It will be a little more expensive if you have 3.21 gearing.

I had nearly identical experience. Quoted about $2200, but got it done by local Jeep guy for about $1550.

1,800 at 4wp, added 300 warranty for 5yr/60k miles that I can take to any 4wp store in the nation. My labor was discounted as. I has quite a bit done but shouldn't be too far off.

If you have 3.21 and just want to go to 4.56/4.88 you will be looking between $1500-$1800 on average.

When I did 4.56 in my black 09 it was $1600 OTD..

When I did the 4.56 in the Wife's 15' I also added a TruTrac and did all the bearings/seals and that one came closer to $2600

If you are going to do it, I would suggest spending a little more for either a TruTrac or Lockers.

So if I'm at 3.73, and looking to go to 4.56 or 4.88, somewhere around $12-1300? I know it varies by area, not looking for anything exact.

If you get it for that price it's a good deal.

I'm about to do 4.88's and lockers(D30/D44 non rubicon) I had a hard time not getting new axles already regeared. Ultimate D44 for the front and G2 D44 for the rear. The cost is more but I can do the labor myself and in the end I have better components. It's a much closer decision when labor costs get in the $2000 range.

2017 JKUS. $455 for 4.56's and $975 to install those and Eaton e-lockers, front & rear. Got the gears from Krawl Off-Road and had a local shop (Utah) that specializes in Jeeps handle the install.

I had estimates of anywhere from $2600 to $1200. Guess which one I chose?

Who did your gears? I’m in Utah and looking at getting it done

Thanks for all the feedback. I asked because I'm looking to buy a new JKU, but my budget's pretty tight (around $30K). I'm finding them with 3.21's in my price range, but finding the 3.73's has been a challenge so far. Especially with the Gobi paint.
