Slightly off topic from the original post - but mine has a crack as well (bullseye). I tried fixing it with the windshield repair kit from autozone (permatex i believe) and it is TERRIBLE. Please do not use this stuff. Needs to be done professionally, unfortunately.

Quick update on my #2 windscreen failure. I was able to inspect the crack and it there is a very small gravel chip about 1" from the edge of the glass where the crack started. So in both of my cases the crack initiated at a chip from impact. Hard to say if temperature gradients were also to blame (probably didn't help!). Either way I'm bumming... Calling to dealer today to find out who they use for glass replacement. Hopefully the replacement will be tougher than OEM.

It's because of the rake of the windshield, on most other vehicles the rock is propelled over the glass, but Wrangler's windshield is too brick like. :p

My 2007 had it's fair share of glass repairs. When I bought my Colorado, the dealer threw in Crystal Fusion treatment, and got the same for my 2012 Wrangler. Even if you have to pay for the treatment, it pays for itself after the first windshield replacement(if you figure OEM glass & labor).

On my old wrangler, a 98, the windshield cracked twice. I believe the angle of the windshield has a lot to do with it, being a steeper angle, it takes more direct hits than a more sloped windshield which can deflect more stones. Just a thought.

Started under passenger wiper and ran to the drivers wiper before I got home. Replaced 2 in first year of having Jeep.

Clear epoxy... Its been 4 years since I got 2 bulls eye cracks and they haven't changed at all.

Also my 98 tj never had issues with cracked windshields and I beat the crap out that jeep. I'm leaning towards inferior product.
Same. I have two chips that I just put a dab of epoxy on them... I've been waiting for them to split for almost 4 years so I can get my windshield replaced... they just wont budge...
