Yeah, I used several different ones when I was practicing. I would recommend using several types just because the actual exam may not exactly be the same type QSO format you practiced. When I did mine, it was different and threw me off.

Heck, what am I saying? I forgot that there is no longer an exam... Sorry.

Yeah, I know there's no requirement anymore but still want to do the code.

Good man. I got it done just last year myself. I'm glad I got it before the requirement went away, but it doesn't really matter. No special prize for it.

I still think the FCC should have kept the code element for the Extra.

I had to do it, so they all should have to as well! (How's 'Old Fart' does that sound? :D)

It is good to see that you guys have an interest in CW!

I actually have more interest in tradition and less in the actual CW. I'm third generation ham, so I was born into it. My father has been licensed 'round fifty years or so.

I actually am interested in learning CW for the pleasure of learning a new skill now rather than an archaic requirement of a test.

Going to concentrate on passing the element 3 pool first though!

Good luck with element 3.

A little off topic, but I get to do a job interview with a former tech from MFJ. I'm lookin' forward to talkin' to the guy.
