Hi,

I got a 95 Wrangler, with the 4.0, and it died.

I changed out all the sensors and I still get no spark at the distributor.

I am told my ECM may have died. Is there a way I can bypass the ECM, get the ECM replaced, and (or) get to changing the distributor and installing a carburator and Re-do the intake manifold. I lost my job over a year ago and have few options...

Before you spend any more money on it check that you have power to the ECM, a good ground at the ECM, etc. There is always a chance that the problem is a relay, or ignition switch that is not providing power to the ECM, or better yet a bad ground connection.

Check all the fuses and relays.

I assume you changed the crank position sensor?

Does the check engine light come on when you just turn the key to "on?"

If so, have you checked for fault codes? Turn key on, off, on, off on, don't start. The check engine light will blink out the codes.

Have you checked the coil with an ohmmeter?

I am currently in the process of putting an HEI distributor and a Holley carb on my 4.0. Just waiting on all of my parts to arrive, then I'll assemble.
