I have a 2008 JKUR that has a 4inch lift and 37 inch tires. Whenever I take the Jeep offroad (use 4L) and then return to paved highway I get a Check Engine Light. There is never a problem that I can tell and when I get home I use the ol' trusty Superchips Flashcal to clear the code. The code indicates a problem with the Cat Converter. I am a little slow here, and inexperienced with Jeeps (just owned this a few months and little usage), but it sure looks like this is a trend I may just have to live with.
I would like to know if this is a typical problem with the jeep that is lifted and has 37's. Any help/info is greatly appreciated.

To know exactly what's going on, you need the code (Pxxxx). The number is important because there are several OBD cat codes.

PO420: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
PO421: Warm-Up Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
PO430: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
PO431: Warm-Up Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)

If you are getting any of these, it's probably not caused by your mods....

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I will make a note of the specific code the next time it happens. Maybe I'm in for a catalytic converter replace- we'll see.
