Went to the shop where my jeep is getting some work, grant it that my Jeep is not complete, its missing the 10 yr anniversary rubicon hood, front grill, DV8 slanted top, slanted tire carrier from ace. Those parts should be installed by the end of this week or so. I went with a JKS 2.5 BDS fox shocks lift, however, I am not liking the wheels that the shop recommended which are installed already with BFG's KO2's The shop is saying that the Jeep will look complete once everything is done but I am not feeling these wheels one bit. However, I have 2 in mind that I may like, one is machined lip/beadlock style 17X9 and the other is 20's...

Just can't make a decision on the wheels~ :atomic: and its making me upset, lol. I want my Jeep to look nice but still be functional, stylish, ride nice but I want it to stand apart... So what do you guys think so far, agree? Thanks

If you want your Jeep to be functional offroad, do NOT get the 20's. I think you'll be much happier with the 17x9. 20's are for Hummers and other non-offroad vehicles.

I kinda like the wheels that are on your Jeep currently the most. It's your Jeep though, and ultimately your opinion is the one that matters.

I won't be using my Jeep off-road too much, I didn't spend 40+k on a Jeep to ruin it on the trails. I'm concerned about the stance, style, appearance, ride quality and comfort is also important. I test drove the Jeep w the new suspension and it rides like a Cadillac so atleast I got something done right... Now it needs the wheels everything else is pretty much done except the final phase of bumpers after I get this first phase project completed

If you go with a diff diameter wheel you need a diff diameter tire too.

Your Jeep, you do what you want. If you're not taking it offroad then put whatever wheel/tire combo you like.

Your Jeep, you do what you want. If you're not taking it offroad then put whatever wheel/tire combo you like.

Yes correct, that's true. However, I didn't start a thread to be told that exact negative comment. I came here for help and suggestions. I've seen people off-roading with 20's and 22' wheels which is insane and they just have $$& to spend but people do what they want it's their money and pockets. However, I am looking for a specific look and balance as well...

I like to brake up the color personally, so I think the AE rim or I believe that moto metal rims with the silver beads and outer edge look good. I also like Black Rhino rims..check them out.

Since you want to be that way:
I find it equally insane someone would throw money at a Jeep shop without doing their homework first... Or that someone would throw $$ at a shop and not do the work themselves. Or...etc, etc, you get the point.

There are endless wheel/tire threads in this forum, why are you not putting in the work reading and studying them? Instead relying on a shop to give you 2 options.

It's good that you are willing to admit it's mostly for looks. I have no problem at all with that viewpoint. I say go for the 20's. A couple wranglers in my area have 20's and they look fantastic. If you really want it to be noticed, the 20's will do that.

Ok since you want to be nosey and get details because you care so much about other people's lives here it goes.

I was given $650 for my stock wheel/tires
$1800 credit was given for my stock jeep top and lastly $400 was given for my previous 2 door JK softop that I sold to them in exchange for credit towards my build.

That's $2850 that's going towards my build without me dropping a single dollar out of my pocket..

I paid $2100 for my DV8 top, $600 for the 10th anniversary hood and new from grill cost me $200. The shop is working with me because he is a new owner and want publicity and customers plus we've have become good friends. So everything given to me is at cost if not slightly lower than cost.

You see my friend, not everyone who goes to a shop and doesn't know what their doing get screwed and taken advantage of.. You seem a lil perplexed and confused probably upset that in your past someone took you for granted or you lost your hard earned money unwisely... Lastly, a forum like this is build for Jeep enthusiast, Jeep owners and this forum is built on supporting each other not being jerks or A-Holes to one another. So do yourself a favor go be a troll on someone's else thread...

You'll find I'm usually one of the friendliest most helpful people on this forum, you chose to start out being a jerk and I reciprocated.

From one brother to another, relax. You asked for opinions and he gave you his, which happen to be very valid. There wasn't anything negative about the way he did it. You might not happen to agree with him and that's okay, he doesn't agree with you but you did ask what we think about it.

Truly if you wanted EVERYONE to agree with your decisions about your jeep you a) came to the wrong place or b) need to say something like "I need you guys to tell me what a good idea this is or don't comment at all."

Most of us here don't understand buying a jeep and not taking it off road any more than you understand spending 40k and beating it up. But again, it's your jeep, put it together the way you like.

You've been around here long enough to know this so I'll assume something else was bugging you. Fight hard, play harder.

Start a poll, maybe?

I think there may be some value considering the cost of the tires from a maintenance standpoint, too - more common sizes have more availability (and often cost less) than odd or unpopular sizes. The tires will eventually need to be replaced as a wear-out item. Resale may be a concern too... not everyone digs the dubs.
Personally, I love the look of AEV wheels, but if you're seeking a different look than ones that are popular you have a lot of options in popular (OEM offered) rim diameters.

20's are usually more expensive. Just remember... think of the kittens.
