So my 2015 wrangler was badly keyed, requiring repainting of the hood and both passenger doors.

After two tries the shop got it right, but all of the Torx head bolts now have damage from when the hinges were put back on, with bare metal showing.

They said the right way to paint the doors was to remove hinges and replace them, unlike painting them as a unit like they do at the factory, and that the paint damage on the torx bolts is just how it is.

Is there something they should have done differently? They are willing to make it right, but don't seem to know what to do.

How can the hinge/door paint job be done right without buggering the bolts after painting?

Thank you.

when I had my door repainted due to a careless roommate they left the hinge on to allow it to be like the factory coat. You may want to find a new shop.

Why not sand the surface of the hinges, replace the bolts, repaint hinges? They may be able to mask where the hinge meets the door, since it's already a natural break.
