I have a 2001 Tj Sport with 4.0 and 32RH auto. I understand the shift interlock system and why it exists. My question is, can you bypass the part of the system so you can downshift manually into 2nd and 1st without having to put your foot on the brake? Any help is appreciated.:thumb:

There is a second cable going to the shifter handle mechanism that makes that a requirement. I converted my TJ to the 32RH and didn't install that cable and because of that, I did not have to step on the brake pedal to get it into 2 or Lo.

On my '99 all you have to do is press the button on the gear selector to change, no brake required
x2, but I have a '00 instead of a '99.
