Got my lift installed all is well. Ditching the 30x9.5's for some 33x12.5's. I'm having a heck of a time deciding on the tires I want and could use a little feedback from the community. I see a lot of snow and mud up here in New England. I need a tire that can go through deep fresh snow and also drive on snow and ice covered roads. It also have to be a good mud tread to at least medium depth mud. I've got it narrowed down to BFG km2's or Goodyear Duratracs. I'm definitely open to other options if you guys think they will fit the bill. I would like to keep it under $200 a tire but can go a bit higher if it's really worth it.

I REALLY like my Cooper Discoverer STT. Awesome in mud and sand. Minimal hum and look GREAT!!! I only have 31's but they go all the way to 37's

They have gotten great reviews also.

Please go with the bfgs. You will not be dissapointed. Once you get then you will say "man, lariatryder was right. That guy is smart"

Well I have read that the bfgs are better in deep mud but the duratracs are better in snow and ice correct? I need a tire that can do both. How are the km2's in the snow?

I've been contemplating duratracs over km2's as well for these VT winters. Lets here it from some of you who run them or have had them how are the duratracs offroad?

The tires in this pic are Duratrac's The one still on the ground was supporting most of the weight of that Jeep and didn't even break the bead. Made a fan out of me. We just tipped it back over and he was off to the races like it never happened.

Of course the ones on this Jeep are KM2's and they were awsome also.

My vote is for the km2's. I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas and have had no problems with them on snow, ice on the other hand is another story but other than studded tires all you can do on ice is slow down. Mud traction is unbelievable with the km2's.

Thats a tuff call. Both tires are excellent. The Second picture Gate53 above posted is the Goodyear MTR with Kevlar actually and they would also be a good choice. If you go with the Km2's I'd recommend getting them sipped. The extra biting edges will help you on ice.

If we can help you with a set, let us know. We give WranglerForum members $50.00 off their total when they purchase any 5 tires for their Jeep. All you need to do is call in your order and mention this site. :)

I'm running Interco TRXUS 33x12.5x15 and with about 15,000 miles on them they look like they have more than that. They've worn fast.

Me? I'm looking at Kumho KL71 tires as my next set...maybe Duratracks.

Ah! That is what I did wrong. LOL. I ordered online. Just ordered a 5 wheel/tire combo. Looking forward to getting them. I got the Nitto Terra Grapplers. Talked with several that were happy with them. I think they will fit my driving.

bato,
check out my profile for some good pics of Good Year duratracs(33x12.5). I have only had mine on a week but I've been off road twice & spent the rest of the time on the highway. I LOVE my duratracs so far. Can't wait to see how they handle any snow & ice we will have coming up. Good luck with your decision & be sure to post pics for us...

Also, I highly recommend discounttire.com. Great selection, Great price, quick ship, and you can't beat the $50 off for WF members! I took advantage of that!

Well I've decided to go with 32x11.5 instead of 33x12.5 with my 2.5" lift and 1" BL. Duratracs do not come in 32's :( so I guess I'm going to order the km2's. I'm just a little worried about snow with the km2's are the km2's snow worthy?
