Hey Everybody,

This is officially my first post. A friend pointed out this issue to me and I'm not sure what's causing it.

Got a 2005 Wrangler LJ with 76k miles.

The tie rod has a spot rubbed into it caused by the bottom of the drag link bolt. See pics.

I shot a little spray paint on it to see if it would happen again and it did on a short drive across town.

The suspension is completely stock and has never been touched. I tried turning the steering wheel full left and full right, but that did not cause the bolt to touch. I'm at a loss.

Maybe the bolts just need to be loosened and turned around??

Loosen the bolts and rotate the clamp itself (without moving the sleeve) then retighten the clamps. You probably want to use some PB Blaster or something to get the bolts loose if it's all rusty or cruddy in there. If you want to go all out you could disassemble it, clean it up, put on anti-seize, reassemble it, and readjust it to center your steering wheel.

Steering wheel is a bit off anyway so I probably go the later route.
