While on a road trip this weekend, my engine light came on after about 200 miles. Then I noticed the Jeep would be a bit sluggish on acceleration, especially at higher highway speeds, and the ECO indicator was not coming on, but other than that everything seemed normal. Then at the end of the trip (after about 270 miles) when braking on the off ramp, the hot oil warning showed up, then immediately went off. I checked the code with my Flashcal Superchips & it showed the only error being "P0741 Torque Conv Clutch Circ Perf or Stuck Off". I cleared the code & it did not come back as of yet, but I've only driven about 6 miles. My question is, should I go ahead & make an appt to bring it to the dealer, or wait & see if the engine light comes on again? Will they be able to see the code even though I cleared it?
I'm still under warranty (2015 JKU about 24,000 miles) so hopefully whatever the issue is will be covered. It has a 2.5" lift & running 35s.

Thanks!

What were your coolant temps during the drive, before, during and after symptoms?

Check with the dealership. There is a known problem with auto trans coolers. Though I don't know the year that it drops off at. Just had my better half deal with it with hers, thankfully I prefer a stick.

Stayed in the low 200's, the gauge never went higher than just over the halfway mark. I didn't realize until after I got the Hot Oil warning that it's referring to the trans not the engine oil, so I didn't think to check that. I drove around for an hour yesterday & the trans temp stayed in the upper 160's

I'm guessing they can diagnose this without the CEL on? I haven't had the warning come back after clearing it, so wondering if it's still stored in the system.

For the record, HOT OIL is an indication that the transmission fluid is hot. That, coupled with a torque converter code definitely points to the transmission. I would get it to a dealer soon.

I just had my check engine light come on. Couldn't get the code myself so I took it to Autozone. Came up with P0741. Stayed on last night and then this morning. Started Jeep after they checked the code and the light went off. Wondering if I should take to dealership??

If you dig through my threads, I also had a HOT OIL warning. I am now on my 3rd transmission. Hope yours isn't as catastrophic.

3.73 and 315's
I've got 315's too but with 4.10, hope this doesn't turn into a problem for me too.
Does your tranny usually run hot 200+.....mines usually around 165-170
Do you do a lot of stop and go driving or mostly highway ?

I'm usually around town. The two times I had a check engine light it was on the highway. Never noticed higher than normal temps.
