I jumped in the Jeep to go to work and noticed when I started it, the windshield wipers came on. I checked the switch and found the wipers were turned off. I checked further and found that my entire gauge cluster is dead. I turned it off, started it again and it was the same result.

Everything was fine yesterday so I have no idea what happened. Any ideas?

One possible solution I've read is to disconnect your battery for about 10 minutes then reconnect. It appartently resets something. Otherwise its probably a fuse, but the wipers going on leads me to believe otherwise. Doesn't hurt to check the fuses anyway.

Is your Jeep still under warranty? Is so take it to the dealer. There may be an issue with the TIPM.

Start w/the easiest. Battery first, as Mikey said. I've seen an awful lot of electrical issues fixed by unhooking the battery. :thumb:

I'll try the battery disconnect when I get home. I didn't have time to diagnose the issue and had to steal the wife's car.

BTW, it is not under warranty and the only dealer I trust can't get to it til next Wed so hopefully it's a simple fix.

This dude had a problem that sounds very similar to yours, and the battery trick put joy back into his miserable little existence. :)

:D Good deal, hope it works. Why do these issues always come up when I don't have the time to mess with them?

It looks like the phantom problem has corrected itself (for now). I started it as soon as I got home this morning and everything was fine. I wouldn't be surprised if this issue repeats itself in the future though...

I remember seeing on here that Jeep had a recall once upon a time for the TIPM. That's what made me think yours might be related (if it isn't simple like a battery cable).
