Emergency toolkit?

Hello all,

I was browsing around for a good toolkit for the vehicle (for normal garage use + as a toolkit to carry around for emergencies), and among the the different items on different websites, I found this one:

85-Piece Ratchet and Socket Set M-HM85

What do you think of this one? Is it suitable (FYI, I have a 2012 JK, and this'll be my first set to start with).

It's got a lot of sizes you will never use

I've built my kit by adding specific tools I have used
Torx drivers, vise grips, mult head screwdriver, duct tape, wire cutters/stripper, a couple of those plastic gear shift/transmission parts that can break etc
Agree having something on hand is a good idea. This kit has a lot of stuff I'd never use.

Cost is always a factor in quality of tools. I've had 2 cheapie ratchets fail under very mild use, and one socket actually split in a minimal-torque situation. Given the multiplication of makers, it's hard to know what is or isn't 'good quality'.

While some of my on-board hand tools are from decades past, I've found good deals at a couple 'pawn shops' that carry tools.

Names I recognize often don't cost any more than the cheap stuff in the used-stuff world.

Being retired gives me opportunity to shop a little at places I overlooked when I had more money but less time to consider my purchase.

Having a nice tool set is a good idea. Have a 'good reliable' tool set is the goal.
