It is fairly easy to install a catalytic converter. You cut the section of straight pipe and either weld in the CAT, or use u-bolt style muffler clamps. As for intake, check a junk yard, you could probably get a complete air intake for about $20-25

Are you talking about the air filter box? It will not run without an actual intake. I agree with RLHoffman get one from a junk yard and make sure you hook up ALL the vacuum lines & the hose that goes to the exhaust manifold to heat the incoming air when it is cold. Otherwise…no passy passy!

be careful when purchasing your CAT. They have an ID number on them that the SMOG tech needs to verify at time of testing. (at least her in Cali). The C.A.R.B site has a ID checker that will tell if the CAT is approved for your vehicle and year. Some CATs are universal (mine is for carbed motors 95 and older) and some are specific to vehicles so just be sure you buy the correct one so you dont get an expensive surprise.
