3.8 is a good reliable engine with many going over 200000 miles. there have have been a few blown 08s and they do go through oil. if this was my jeep, i would wait to see what they are going to do to fix it. chrysler has replaced many of these engines under warranty. hang in there, it will be taken care of. also, as an after thought, are you running the right oil? sorry for your trouble, but hang in there.
