I have a 2006 tj 2.4. Does anyone have any good links or names of Bolts used for the exhaust flange. Where the pipe meets the manifold. I’m on my 3rd set. They haven’t broke but they constantly come loose. I’ve used red loc tite. Lock washers. Different types of bolts and nuts. They will not stay tight. Factory doesn’t make em anymore.

On my 91 I fabbed up a exhaust pipe mount from one of the bell housing bolts to the pipe just below the manifold. On my 91 it helps the exhaust system not bounce around so much. far as the nuts or bolt go, I dont think 242 or 271 is heat proof. Nylocks will melt. Lockwashers? eh maybe. Have you tried the bolts that have a crimped top lip? cant recall the name of them however. Also, ya might wanna check out the "stage 8" lock nut system.

These work awesome on a lot of the equipment I’ve worked on. Not sure how vibration proof they might be. But they work great if you can only get a wrench on one side.

8thtimer suggested these nuts which is probably the best nuts to use. They are heat resistant since there is no nylon in the locks. Probably only work one time, because I think the bolt will shear when you try to take them off. Maybe, maybe not.

I think they are called pinch nuts, but can’t seem to find them using that description.
