hey does anybody have any suggestions about jk wiring
install new bulbs in factory foglamps now they only flash at a very slow rate
went from factory 55w bulbs to 80w bulbs
when you turn them on they flash on then off they stay off for 2 or 3 minutes then will flash on then off
possible relay overheating but cant find which one

My guess would be the relay as well,on my 06 TJ it's under in the hood on the passenger side in the fuse box in front of the battery, not sure about a JK though. It shouldn't be a fuse because once it went out it wouldn't come back on. I replaced my factory fog lights with off road lights and just kept the same wiring and haven't had any problems with relays or fuses (so far). If you do find it however, the fog light relay's only purpose as far as i know, is to keep the fog lights from coming on while the high beams are on. So if you understand how the relay works you can just make a constant connection and you wont have to worry about the relay's capabilities. hope that helps some

In a nutshell, you are drawing too much current for the circuit. Overheats, turns off. cools down, turns on. Without that breaker, you have a serious fire hazard. Upgrade your wiring.

The jeep has a special over-current monitoring system that is computer controlled. You'll have to set up a direct connection to the battery through a relay to the fog lights. The wire that used to go to the fog lights controls the relay.

Exactly, with the 2 55W bulbs, he's drawing 9.16666 amps. With the 2 80W bulbs, he's drawing 13.3333 amps. He needs to upgrade the relay, fuse/circuit breaker, and the wiring from fuse/breaker through the relay and to the lights. Most likely, he has a 12A fuse/breaker in circuit.

Jeep uses a different kind of over-current/limiting circuit that is monitored by the computer called CAN bus?? Not too up on it but follow the link to learn more.

That would work with the CANBUS and his illegal lights would stay on. And then maybe melt the housings.
seadog is trying to be helpful but doesn't know the JK electrical system.

You really shouldn't put overwattage bulbs in the stock housings. Where the heck did you find 80s anyhow? 45w bulbs are stock, 55 are legal but still need an auxiliary harness usually.

Read this about foglights. Also on his website, istructions on how to install a relayed circuit and contact info to order the parts to do it.
