Well I failed the Ohio E Check today.

My Readings Were

HC Reading 45.2 State Limit 117.0 PASS
CO Reading 0.36 State Limit 0.65 PASS
NO Reading 1327.8 State Limit 821.0 FAIL

I went home and replaced my O2 Sensor thinking that would do the trip but upon returning I failed again.

Is there a list of what else it could be? I know a bad converter would do the trick but Auto Zone said that high NO levels usually point to O2 Sensor. If the O2 sensor was the culprit and I changed it and then drove back and got retested did I go to fast? Should I have driven the car abit with the new sensor before getting it tested?

Sorry, autozone isn't on the money here. 98 percent of the time, if your NO is high it is ABSOLUTELY pointing to a bad/worn out Cat converter. Now is it possible that a faulty O2 sensor caused a rich mixture that ran the converter too hot and melted it down, thus rendering it useless?? yes.

How far did you run it after replacing the o2 sensor? Was the engine good and hot? Was it raining or very humid? All these things can effect your reading.
