My winch was installed last week & I just noticed there's a lip on the fairlead mounting plate that's welded onto the bumper, it's maybe 1/16 of an inch. I tried to adjust the fairlead up a bit to even it out but it exposes a lip on the top. Will this kind of edge damage the synthetic line? Should I pull it off & grind down the plate to eliminate anything that the line may rub on or is it ok the way it is? Not sure how good these pictures will show what I'm talking about:

X2, grind it down smooth so it's not even close to the synthetic line. The rope can easily be damaged when it's being pulled over a raw edge.

Thanks guys, much appreciated! Going to do this either tonight or at a minimum before my next outing.
