So I replaced my fan speed switch in December because only two speeds worked. Now only one speed works. Any idea what could be the problem? I would smell something burning before it went out, now I know what it was.

Check Amazon.com for resistor packs. I paid $10 + shipping, for a MoPar pack for my TJ. I wouldn't put in anything but a MoPar. Search for "how to" YouTube video for how to do it. Should take only 10 to 15 min to swap it out.

What speed works?

When the resistor pack fails, speeds may drop out one by one over time (what mine did) or at once but high is the one that remains.

97-02 had common issues with the dash selector and wiring going bad/melting. Various speeds may or may not work in this case.
