Ill address both. If its your defrost causing it simple would be to try without turning on def. And see if the fan doesn't come on. The ac system will start the fan at anytime if its not at the right temps. In regard to a temp sensor I would imagine the jeep would be throwing a check engine light for the coolant temp and oil temp not being similar, or for a loss of signal.

I suggest you check your battery.

I had the exact same problem last year and trouble-shot it down to the battery. Come to find there was a bad cell, I replaced it and the problem went away. Seems our wonderful JK engine computers are very sensitive when it comes to the voltage.

My problem is I don't believe the fan should be coming on so soon after starting the engine.

But now I believe it may be me having the defroster on.

Going to try starting it with the defroster off
