I'm looking to purchase a wrangler as a second vehicle. I commute about an hour to work so i want something that'll be good for the winter. When looking, should i be looking at 6 or 4 cyl? My commute is about 60 miles on the highway.
Also i test drove an '88 cj last week and by no means did i expect it to ride like a cadillac but it gave new meaning to rough ride. It had a 4" suspension lift and 33" tires. Was this due to it being a cj, the lift, or both? I want a lift kit but didn't know if a yj or tj would be any smoother? Thanks!

Go with the inline 6. The 4 banger will not net you any better MPG but crappy power.
Take a look at the TJ Wranglers, the coil springs help a lot with the ride quality, even after you lift them.

If you test drive a TJ, you will love it !!! And I am a very hardcore CJ fan, but for a dual purpose Jeep, a TJ is the perfect combination between confort and strength.
