I'm wondering if there are any off road trails in central NJ area, I'm new to NJ and being a Jeep owner and wanted to do some light off-roading. I heard there was in Raritan Bay Area.. Thanks

Thanks Kaspar! Just did some google mapping and there seems to be a bunch of dirt roads back there. Did you enter the trail through the lot?

Have not... Where are they .. My neighbor said he was gonna take me to a couple more maybe these are them ..
Definitely check out colliers mills, easy fun ride with some hills to climb. I got stuck back there once and don't have a winch though so I don't suggest going alone.

I checked out raritan center just one trail near the entrance to the expo center, lots of debris on the trail so didn't go far. The other trail in the lot was blocked by truckers....

I did stop at stokes forest on my way back from Upstate ny and had a blast, tons of trails near Tillman rd area.

Stokes State Forest 1 Coursen Rd Branchville, NJ 07826 Take Struble rd which is across and down the st from the main entrance.
Nice.. My neighbor said the trail in raritan was longer but like you said they are doing work around there ..the buildings along those trails were built to store ammo during WW|| ..thanks for the info on Stokes ..

Just saw this thread, didn't know about Colliers Mills. Going to check it out as it's only about a 1/2 hour south of me and a shorter drive then going to Warren Grove Rec area or Penn State forest.

Thanks for the info.

Interesting about Raritan Center, be careful though, there are always reports from time to time about finding old un-exploded ordinance when they do new construction!
