I bought a builder motor to rebuild for my YJ. As I disassembled it I found the exhaust manifold was cracked, so I had it welded. When I went to put it back on after rebuilding the motor, it didn't fit. It was warped. Then I had to buy a new exhaust manifold after spending the dough to have the cracked cast iron manifold welded by a shop that could properly heat the cast iron prior to welding.
When I put a new motor in my wife's chevy the manifolds were warped. I used a hydraulic spreader to put them on...... They cracked....
