Long time lurker first time poster, there I was minding my own business trying not to let the suspense kill me waiting on new jeep to hit my dealership and I got an email from Jeep telling me what my VIN is and that i should sign up for their Jeep Owner's stuff. After filling out the survey the Jeep website told me I was eligible for a free iPhone4 update for the 730N. I clicked the link https://qna.extra.chrysler.com/rhb/rhbRadioSoftwareUpdateRequest.do and put in the last 8 of the VIN i received via email and it said I was not eligible. What the heck is the update? Is is some APP for the iPhone, or will it allow some killer feature like the ability to drive the Jeep with the phone (just kidding on this part) but do any of you other WF folks know what this is all about?

I am assuming it says I am not eledgible becasue the VIN is too new in Jeep's database and I am okay with that but any feedback would be great.

Of course I will post some Pics of the new JKUR once i get er and was holding out on my first post until I actually had it in my driveway.

Thanks for all the good reading and suspense building from this website.

By the way, anyone in the Louisville, KY area looking for a very knowledgable sales person and great dealer to work with go see Bridget Taylor at Swope Jeep on Dixie Highway.

Do you already have your jeep or are you waiting? Any idea what the update does?

My jeep is an 08, don't know what the update does, but I'll post whatever it is! Thanks again!

hi batster -- the reason you are not eligible, most likely, is because the update is for the older RER version of the 730. Since your Jeep is a 2012 you will have the 730 RHR (not RER)... so don't need an update.

I have the 730N RHR version in my 2012 and my iPhone 4s works fine with it. As was already mentioned, I think the update is for the older model 730N radio.

I agree. I bought my Jeep in August with the RHR and have used both an iPhone 3GS & 4S with no issues.

Yes, this is definitely for the RER units.

We regret to inform you that your vehicle doesn't qualify for this upgrade for one or more of the following reasons:

. You don't have a Media Center 730N (RER) Radio Headunit

The wife's GC with 730n has issues with BT music streaming (skips and plays fast like an LP playing at 45 speed). I wonder if this fixes that issue.

I input the VIN and it says we don't have a 730n. That is not the case and I still have iPhone streaming issues.

Yes, the update fixes streaming issues. I am pretty sure. I had this problem with an early 2011 430N.

Yes, the website told me the same thing too even though i have a 730N. I dont know if it knows we have the update already or if it is being stupid. I dont actually have my Rubi yet, should be available tomorrow.

I am still awaiting actual confirmation from someone that receives the DVD and sticks it in to tell me what it does. Maybe someone can video the update the process and post on Youtube.

You will have the RHR not the RER, therefore the update does not apply to your head unit. It already works with the iPhone 4. I have an iPhone 4s and have no issues with the RHR head unit.

Ah, you don't have your Jeep yet so this is making sense. Please see my previous post. Anyway, when you get your Jeep look at the lower right hand corner of your head unit. There will be 3 letters telling you what version of 730 you have. If you have a 2012 JK it will be RHR therefore the update you are talking about does not apply.

Just checked the wife's and it actually says its a RHB 730n. It has issues streaming from the iPhone 4 and 4s and will be heading to the dealer to be addresses.
