Hey All,

Just wondering if anyone has done the FL Jamboree. I have an itch to try one, I have always wanted to go, but never had a jeep until now. Anyway, just wondering if a Jamboree is worth it, and if anyone has any suggestions for a first timer going to a Jamboree??? Is there anything that I must take?
For French Lick this year it looks like they run a stock, beginners trail.... sounds perfect for me, but has anyone here done it?

The French Lick Jamboree is usually in October. It's on private land. I have friends who go every year. So that says something for it, if I had the cash laying around for it we'd probably do it too, but it's pretty expensive for a family of 4, especially when you include lodging.... :( If you can swing it, I'd recommend it.

If ya don't mind wheelin in Illinois look into the Two Rivers Jeep Club. They have organized runs that aren't any where near the price of the "Jamboree". Ive never been on any Jamboree runs but I have been to TRJC's and they are excellent!!

There is also an IFWDA ( Indiana Four Wheel Drive Ass. ) event at the same place (the Ranch)in French Lick. This event is usually in Aug. You have to be a member of IFWDA to attend. You can be join IFWDA as an individual or join a club that is a part of IFWDA. I have wheeled there and it is a lot of fun, they have trails for stock to wild. There is also a new area of state land open to wheeling near Lynville, In. know as Interlake. There are a few clubs in S. Ind., I am a member of the Boonie Riders 4x4 Club, we are a family oriented club with a variety of vehicles.

No, Interlake is not really new. It has been around for years but it is relitivly new to most.
The IFWDA event in French Lick is a lot of fun camping, trail rides, good times with fellow wheelers. I think you can find info about it on their site.

I did the French Lick Jamboree several years ago and it is a lot of fun... but the cost is pretty high. Just something to consider and weigh your other options maybe with another club as some have suggested.
