Hey guys, i changed out my rear diff fluid 15,000 miles ago and didnt add friction modifier, i used mobile one 75w-140 with limited slip so i thought it wouldnt matter, will that cause any damage? now it started to make a stratching noise :hide:

any thoughts?? im going to buy some today and put it in there...

Synthetic oil is fine. It has the friction modifiers included in the oil. You have nothing to worry about.
Thats not always the case. Most of the synthetic oils that say "Safe for LS Diffs", or "No Friction Modifier required", dont actually have any addative for a mechanical LS diff. Mobil 1 has been advertising this, and when I contacted them, they informed me that their oil is simply "Safe for use in limited slip differentials......". However, lately, I have seen some Mobil 1 oils that DO state the addative is in the oil. One person who tried this in their LS Diff, had to add more LS Addative later on due to chatttering.
