i have a 93 YJ and im looking too completely rebuild it from the ground up and im trying to find out the best route too go with my gearboxes.. Replace or strengthen? lets hear the reccomendations
Tires at least 33X12.5
eventually im going to do a 350 swap but as of now i have the 2.5
and wheeling i pretty much want too stick to trails and dunes occasionally and i want to be prepared for any rock crawling if it comes along
the D30 up front can handle 33s and should survive the 350 if it is not locked and you're not heavy on the gas, wait till it breaks to replace it or upgrade it
the D35 in the back won't survive either for long, start looking for a D44 or ford 8.8
the transfer case is fine but can be upgraded later if you want
the trans need to replaced when you do the motor, it won't survive anything bigger than the 4cyl
thanks man i appreciate it, its good to know about the front and rear... i knew about the trans still trying to decide on what way i wont to go with that
