Looking to finally upgrade my 98 TJ 2.5 I4 Manuel with new axels & lockers.. Have a couple questions on which kit for the front end..

http://www.eadoffroad.com/jeep/wrangler-tj/tj-drive-line/tj-lockers/alloy-usa-12232-arb-jeep-tj-lj-xj-front-axle-d30-grande-30-30-spline-w-arb

I will also be re-gearing to 4.88's

What is the difference between these two kits?

This one for the rear end..

Everything is stock underneath, just looking for input & ideas.

It's sitting on a Skyjacker 4" lift, 17" wheels & 35" tires..

Thanks

The more expensive kit converts the D30 from 27 spline axle shafts to the larger diameter 30 spline shafts. It includes the larger diameter unit bearing hubs required for that conversion. Unfortunately those particular hubs from Alloy USA don't have such a great reputation with everyone. Unless you're just running killer trails, I doubt you'd need the 30 spline kit. My front D30 did fine on Warn's alloy 27 spline shafts with 35" tires and a locker on some of the toughest trails imaginable like Sledgehammer in Johnson Valley.

But.... for several years, the world was dark... we had lost Superior Axle and their superb axle shafts & related products. Then there was light... we recently learned the American made quality that made Superior Axle the #1 choice is coming back as Revolution Gear & Axle. If you can hold on until September when they release their TJ products, it's my strongest possible opinion that you'd be much better off with RGA's products.

Thank You for that info & link. The 4.88's that I picked up are Motive Gear, should I just sell them & wait on those as well? I've already waited almost a year saving up for the axel kits & lockers, a few more months won't hurt me if I'll be getting a better product.
