Does anyone know what kind of fuel mileage I should be getting in a 91 jeep wrangler islander.
inline 6 cylinder engine
5 speed
3" suspension lift
31/10.5R15 tires
I believe i am average 13.5 MPG I live in the City of Pittsburgh which is hilly and curvey. I drive 40% on the highway & 60% stop & go. the 13.5 is a combined total.

Should I be happy or do I need to do something?

Sounds about average. I use to get 16 with my 95 YJ 5 spd. with 31's and s.o.a. lift. Mostly 45-55 mph and around town. This is with everything running perfectly.

I am sure others will chime in, but gas is $3.45-3.49 here as of today, but I never really have high hopes about any of my getting much better than 18 mpg.
I choose fun and dependability over everything else. I have 4 with over 200k miles and still running great. They all average anywhere from 14-18 mpg.

Keep it 55 mph and under and you will get better mileage than trying to keep up with traffic.
Also make sure all of your sensors are working correctly and it is tuned properly.
That is the best advice I can give ya.
