Before I spend the insane amount of money they are asking for this thing. Just wanted to check and make sure it's the right thin I should change.

My gas gauge reads zero most of the time. When I hit a bump it randomly pics a position either 3/4 or 1/4 so I have no idea what my gas is at. Is this the right part to change?

The sender for the gas gauge is indeed part of the fuel pump. So long as the wiring and connectors between the fuel pump and computer is ok, I would also suspect the fuel pump will fix the problem. Check RockAuto Auto Parts for possibly better pricing.
