Does the 2014 JK have this warning indicator?

Twice in 5000 miles I have left the gas cap off and hanging after fueling (I known I'm moron.).

In neither instance did I get any warning notice on the dash. My owner's manual states there should be a warning word light up in the odometer space if the gas cap is loose or not functioning.

I would think if the gas cap is hanging the warning should occur.

My JK does not have the EVIC option.

This leads me to believe there is either a malfunction in the software or the 2014 JK does not have this warning function.

Any ideas?

It's not a warning for your cap being off, it's a warning for the evap. "system". In your case and in many others, there wasn't a problem that was detected. It's not autotmatic and there are other factors involved. Put the cap on and continue driving. Try not to forget to attach the cap after fueling.

There is a warning as I personally had to track down a leak in the system. If you leave the cap for an extended period of time it will go off
