Hi-I just bought a '98 TJ a few months ago and am currently prepping it for a week-long trip through Colorado--leaving Thursday. Today, while driving through the mtns., I noticed a strong gas odor each time the Jeep started ascending a hill--at slow speeds as well as on the highway. After reading forum posts, it looks like I need to have the following things checked: Leak at the evac canister; Gas filler and vent rubber hoses--replace due to age; or replace upstream 02 sensor. No check engine lights have come on. Anything else I need to check? I don't want to get stuck on Imogene Pass . . .
