Good morning,

I read earlier on here that the 15 gallon gas tank is the same size as the 19 gallon tank. The difference in capacity was due to the filler tube or something like that.

The question I have is can I convert my 15 gallon tank to hold 19 gallons. If so, what will I need to make it happen?

Thanks in advance!

You have to remove the fuel tank, take out the fuel pump, you can reach through that hole and cut the vent tube so that it's closer to the wall of the tank. Right now, the vent tube sticks in to the tank about 5 or so inches, using this tool from HF, or a very sharp utility knife, you can reach in and clip the tube, be careful to cut just the vent tube. The one you want to clip is the smaller of the two, this will all make a lot more sense when your in there, it really is easy to do.

Cool! Uh, I mean OK! When the weather cools off I just might get on this. Darn mosquitos plus hot and humid aren't conducive to crawling under Jeep right now. Just glad I found out it can be done.

Many thanks!
