Anyways, I would still get the external meter and the short patch cable. It's much more accurate than the built in one. The difference in readings between the one built into my 980 and my external were not overly significant but they were different and the external eas more accurate.
How do I know this, you ask? We then compared readings using an antenna analyzer. My MJF was almost dead on to the analyzer, my BC980, not so much.
