i just replaced my alternator on my 2002 4.0 cause i thought it wasnt working properly, i put the new one on and the same thing. Both alternators tested pass. I ran another cable from the alternator to the battery to eliminate the orginal wire if that can be the problem and still no 14 volts when running. Also ran another cable from alternator housing to fram to ensure a good ground and still nothing, im lost... any ideas???

Before you do anything....do the easiest thing. Remove, clean, and replace ALL the battery cables. Especially the one to the relay box. This may sound silly but believe me it just may be what is causing the problem....I know...it happened to me. I went the route of the alternator, new belt, new battery....and all it was, was the loose cable to the relay box. Good luck.
