Guys, For anyone looking at grab handles, I just want you to know I am fairly unhappy with my GPCA ones. If you had asked me when I got them i'd have said I love them.

But in under two years, with no abuse, they are totally falling apart. The fabric and Velcro portion is cracking and dissolving. This vehicle is 60% of time softop on, 39.75% hardtop on, and maybe .25% of the time roof off -- so it certainly is not from excessive sunlight.
I've emailed the company, and will update this post when I hear back from them.

You can see from attached pics that both unexposed and exposed Velcro as well as fabric are cracking and disintegrating. These were purchased Feb 2018 and installed March 2018. I started noticing black dust on my door armrest a few months ago and didn't realize where it was coming from at first -- so they were failing in less than a year and a half.

I noticed on Amazon reviews another buyer who had same issue. I bought mine direct from GPCA

It is a brand/ maker of wrangler accessories sold on amazon and direct. and often mentioned here grab bars as per pictures I posted. Just run a search here and/or type it in google and see their website.

Go solid like Grab bars or something similar. I have Wild Boar. Put them on once. Lasts a lifetime. Far, far better than floppy fabric handles.

Had for almost 2 years as well with no issues. Then again I never use them. I don't need handles to get in a Jeep.

The GPCA handles are not fabric just the mounting sleeve. For my own preference I like the look and love the comfortable position of the GPCA and I am not going to say " you will put your eye out" with solid forward ones but I prefer the mid side window position for the bars

I saw another on amazon to write up a review I saw another with these issues.
I would keep an eye on yours. Mine had no special exposure to sun, salt or dampness at all. And the mopar roll bar cover fabric forward, rearward and under the GPCA sleeve is in perfect shape whereas the GPCA sleeve fabric, specifically belts of velcro is cracking and disolving on both sides.

Good news is GPCA has responded to my email quickly with a replacement offer. So they do stand behind their product.

I dont use mine to get in or out either, just to rest my arms upright very rarely. Passengers use them more often

I will definitely check mine soon. Good to know they stand behind their product. I like them because I can fold them out of the way and I store flashlights in the pouches plus the glass breaker if needed. “Needed” as in to kill a human since I doubt I will need it to break glass.

Absolutely it is a very well designed product and the company was quickly responsive to the problem.

I store a small streamlight in my pouch as well. I am with soft-top most of the year, and when that is the case, I dont like anything where it can be seen, almost everything is in back inside a tuffy compartment, so it is nice to have a tac light where it can't be readily seen. I doubt anyone would look up there.

As far as checking I would check velcro that is sown onto tightening belts. On one side it was disintegrating and the other side it has started to crack. could simply be a bad batch of velcro for a period of product run.

I wish I could note good response by GPCA in post title and first post but forum seems to be set up so one cant edit posts after a certain period of time
