clean it up really good. Spray it with cleaner you mentioned, whipe out the gunk you can get to and let dry for a litle while then you should be good to go.
X2 or electric contact cleaner, thats more expensive though.The easiest way to get all the gunk out, is to use disc brake cleaner. It also evaporates very quickly. It also does a very good job of breaking down the gunk, from the metal parts.
