Anyone have the Slyvania ZXE Xeon or the Slyvania Silverstar Ultra?

The Xeon is a clear light at around 1000 lumens and suppositly better in the rain while the Ultra is brighter at over 1300 lumens.

LED bulbs just are not there yet for me for reliability for headlights. Not looking to spend hundreds to replace the whole assembly. I used that money for off road lights from Rigid.

For reverse lights I have the JDMs Astars.

For Tail lights leaving the stock in. I dont trust the resistors for blink rate and the heat build up.

I don't think you will gain much. You are still using the factory housing.

On the Sahara, I went with the Hella eCode lights, but only used the housing as the Hella stock bulbs were not all that great. I then installed the Osram Nitebreaker bulbs which were a real improvement. I first did this on my TJ, but of course for the JK/JKU you need an H4 to H13 adapter. I first went with a cheap one which did not work as the pins would push out. Here are the links:

I let them go with the Sahara on trade in, but also gave the dealership the OEM lights that I had removed. I let them know about the eCode lights as I was not sure if they would have an issue selling a vehicle with non-DOT headlights. Hella does make a DOT version if you with to look for them. I'm not sure they have the upward angle on the right side of the low beam to put more light on the shoulder.

I first became acquainted with the eCode lights 50 years ago when I had a Triumph TR-4A and put them in it. The housings have not changed much but the bulbs sure have.
