Question, my 2012 2 door jeep came with both the hard top and soft top installed. Everything I read says you can only have one at a time installed. Why cant I leave the soft top folded down and put the hard top back on? I realize you lose the storage space behind the rear seat with the soft top there but why cant it stay there for the winter months? It seems a lot easier than taking the soft top off. Am I missing something?

As covered in many redundant threads:
1. The owners manual says not to do this. 'nuff said.
2. You will lose a boatload of storage space.

people have reported rubbing issues on the soft top material after leaving it in a while. it takes 10 minutes to remove, why sacrifice the loss of storage and risk bending an arm or bow when you're squeezing items in the back.

Besides the reasons already listed above, the 2 back screws that hold the hard top on are a real PITA to get to with the soft top on.
