Put on an SRC bumper not to long ago and with not having my fog lights now I can barley see at night. Wanted to see what others have done to remedy this issue. Thanks

There are numerous threads that address this issue. Some replace the bulbs others replace the entire headlight, a still others add aux lighting. You'll need to find what suits your taste and budget best.

I had the same concern as many others with the stock JK headlights. Running down country roads in the middle of the night is way dangerous without proper lighting. Just purchased a set of HIDs from Tom at HIDProjectors, but they come at a not inconsequential price. You have several options when you put these things together, and can get pretty artsy with them if you like. The ones I ordered are attached below.

Other good option include JW Speaker 8700 Evolution LED headlights (will require canbus canceller), Trucklite LEDs, and other HID kits. I highly recommend staying away from a simple bulb replacement if you go HID. You'll blind the crap out of anyone in oncoming traffic, not to mention it's not legal and VERY easy to spot if a cop knows what he's looking at/being blinded by.

As 3M said really does come down to budget and you get what you pay for. There is everything from simple bulb changes for ~$100 to top of line JW Speaker LED headlamps with projectors for $800.

Just search for headlights and at least read 2 active threads on what might turn out to be a pretty good solution for ~$150. The jury is still out IMO but there is a lot hype because so many of us are unsatisfied with the stock units.

First off, since you changed your rake, by adding a new bumper, your headlights are no longer aimed properly. The factory lights have a very narrow beam with a very sharp upper cut off in low beam. Re-aim the headlight and put a better bulb in.
I have no problem on back roads with properly aligned lights and better bulbs....
Auxiliary lights are a plus on the back roads but won't help you much when there is oncoming traffic.

Did you build them yourself or send Tom your housings? I don't like putting car parts in my oven. If something goes wrong, my wife will have an excuse for a whole new kitchen. :)

You can build them for less or the same as the TLs and beam pattern is so much better but the TLs continue to be popular.

Have they been reliable?

Tom no longer does the DIY kits, too many people were doing things incorrectly and he couldn't afford to help people keep fixing issues, so now he only builds them. You can build them yourself though using parts available from the retrofit source.

That's good to know. I remember his site the process is simple but you need to take your time. Depending on options his prices seem reasonable if he uses quality projectors.

Unfortunately I won't be able to comment on them until president's day weekend when I get a chance to install them. Based on several people who own them, I imagine they will perform well; but I can keep you posted once I have a chance to see them for myself. No need to send anything in; Tom builds a complete package.

Absolutely, they can be done cheaper if you retrofit it yourself. I'd just as well buy them built due to my time constraint. I have one week to complete a whole lot of mods before I bring my JK up to school in NY from GA.

I would look into some LED lighting for your Jeep. The Truck-Lite LED Headlights are a popular upgrade for the notoriously bad factory Jeep headlights. They're going to give you a ton more light in both low and high beam situations. The KC HiLite LED Headlights are a slightly less expensive version of those lights.

You can't go wrong with either option as they will both be a huge improvement over stock. Let me know if you have any other questions or would like a quote on anything!

You're really going to like them!! Installed mine in November. Once I read that any conversion had to be 'baked in the oven' I started looking for an alternative. I really like that Tom was able to paint them any color so you can have a truly custom look.
I also got two halos (here come the ricer comments!!) so there were extra wires coming off the back. Just take your time and watch the videos of how to route the wires and hook them up. You'll realize how extremely tiny the engine compartment is when you're trying to find a clean way to run the wires.

That is true, but as many members learned, unless you are fully confident in your ability to DIY this, most of the time, you end up paying much more in the long run. Mistakes when retrofitting headlights cost a decent lump of cash. You will love them. They are the best headlights you can get for a Jeep.

My new bumper didnt have fogs either, so I opted for JW Speaker headlights and foglights. Pricey, but extremely happy!

I basically just did the same thing with the stock headlights - converted to 6000K HID kit...WOW what a difference!! No I just have to change the stock fog lamps to match the 6000K color.

If you just added it to the stock housing the oncoming traffic probably thinks the same thing. :)
