Do you have ac? I took out my radio and dropped my ac. Other than that it's a lot of contortion in small space. Definitely take the passenger seat out. The heater cables need to be in hooked as well.

Then your job will be a lot easier than mine. There are 4 nuts on the fire wall that have to come off. 1 is behind the fuel rail and valve cover. The other three are arranged around the battery. 2 I think are underneath it and the other is a bit to the right of it. Best thing to do is remove the battery and tray. It's very easy just a few bolts/nuts. This also gives you an oppurtunity to paint it. My tray was very rusty and nasty. Once it's out of the way remove the four nuts and then the 2 heater hoses. Some coolant will drop out but no need to drain the system. Jus zip tie them up and out of the way. Then on the inside of the cab once the passenger seat is out start un doing the heater cables. Becareful when removing them as the little plastic clips that hold them on are brittle and apparently impossible to replace. I got lucky and didn't break any. Then u do the blower motor plug and the clamp that holds the defrost duct work. Be careful with the duct work it tears easily...... And mine is now 95% made of duct tape. Once that is disconnected it becomes a wiggling and jiggling match. Definitely have another set of hands to assist.

The whole heater box should come tree and then you just undo about a thousand small screws and 2 slightly larger ones that hold the heater core itself. Make sure you order a heater core with the metal bracket. I got the omida one off amazon. It came with the bracket. Try to salvage the foam from the old core as it just allows for a tighter fit to prevent rattling. Remove old core and replace with new. If you have any questions just ask. I did this whole repair last weekend so it's all pretty fresh.
