I just finished installing Hella lights to replace my old sealed beams and cannot stress enough what a vast improvement it made. I have an 03 Rubicon with original headlights. I used Hella with H4 high output bulbs. 100/80 watt. I know they are not DOT approved, but I'm not worried about the dot police. I wired in 2 40 amp cube relays to handle the power to them with new heavy duty h4 bulb connectors. This runs power direct from the battery to the relay so the headlight switch does nothing but energize the relay. One for low beams and one for high. Very simple to do and you make your own simple harness. If anyone wants help I would be glad to offer. Now I can see at night without blinding drivers with a massive array of extra lights. Best upgrade I've done yet.
hey, you should PM the steps you took and what exactly you bought.. I dont have much experience with electrical and lighting, but i'd like to try what you did...
I did mine a week ago. I bought hella that came with hb2 bulbs from local 4wd store (40$ a piece ) Such an improvement over stock lights.
